The name of William Morris (1834-96), poet and craftsman, used attrib. of styles of furniture, wallpaper, etc., designed by him or made in his factory or at the Kelmscott Press, spec. as Morris chair, a type of easy chair with open padded arms and an adjustable back. Also Morris-papered a., papered with Morris wallpaper.
