1. The process of mummifying or the condition of being mummied. Also fig.
1800tr. Lagrange's Chem. II. 430 Mummification, the means by which saints were fabricated, is a thing not uncommon. 1887J. H. McCarthy in Gentl. Mag. Mar. 297 If indeed the epithet ‘Chinese’, as applied to such a condition of torpidity of mummification, be not an insult to the Celestial empire.
2. Path. A drying of the animal tissues.
