nanophanerophyte|ˌnænəʊˈfænərəʊfaɪt| [a. F. nanophanérophyte (C. Raunkiær 1905, in Oversigt K. Danske Videnskabernes Selskabs Forhandl. 352), f. nano-. + phanerophyte.] A shrub or sub-shrub between 25 cm and 2 m in height, bearing its resting buds above the surface of the soil.
