Gr. νεότοκ-ος new-born, recent (f. νέος new + τόκος offspring, childbirth) + G. -it -ite1.] A hydrated silicate of manganese and iron, approximately Mn2Fe2Si4O12.6H2O, which is found as black amorphous masses.
