单词 new jack
释义 new jack, n. and a.
Brit. |ˈnjuː dʒak|, U.S. |ˈn(j)u ˈdʒæk|
[‹ new adj. + Jack n.1
Probably arising from the long-established uses of Jack n.1 as a generic familiar name or form of address (especially to a stranger). The music style New Jack Swing was created c 1988 by musician and producer Teddy Riley (b. 1967). Jack is popularly presumed to have originated from the name of Michael Jackson (b. 1958), U.S. pop singer (who later worked with Riley), though this seems to be a subsequent rationalization.]
