▪ I. ‖ non|nɒn| [L. = not.] 1. The first word in a large number of Latin phrases, chiefly legal, some of which have been in more or less frequent use in English contexts. The most important are entered as Main words. Many others will be found in the Law Dicts. of Cowell, Blount, Bell, Bouvier, and Wharton, and in the Stanford Dictionary of Anglicized Words and Phrases. †2. as n. A negation or prohibition.
