[L. nōverint, 3rd plur. perf. subj. of nōscĕre to know, occurring in the opening phrase of writs, noverint universi ‘let all men know’.]

1589Nashe Pref. Greene's Menaphon (Arb.) 9 It is a common practise now a daies amongst a sort of shifting companions..to leaue the trade of Nouerint whereto they were borne, and busie themselues with the indeuors of Art.
