obsecrate, v. rare, pedantic.|ˈɒbsɪkreɪt| [f. L. obsecrāt-, ppl. stem of obsecrāre to beseech, entreat (prop. in the name or for the sake of something sacred), f. ob on account of + sacrāre to make sacred, f. sacer, sacr- sacred.] trans. To entreat earnestly, as in the name of something sacred; to beseech, supplicate (a person); to beg (a thing).
