oculist|ˈɒkjʊlɪst| [a. F. oculiste (in Paré 16th c.), f. L. ocul-us eye: see -ist.] 1. One versed in the knowledge or treatment of the eyes; a physician or surgeon who treats diseases and affections of the eye.
