oligist Min.|ˈɒlɪdʒɪst| [Named 1801 (oligiste) by Haüy, ad. Gr. ὀλίγιστος least, superl. of ὀλίγος few, little.] More fully oligist iron: A variety of native iron sesquioxid or hæmatite: so called as containing less iron than the magnetic oxide.
