‖ ombre chevalier|ɔ̃br ʃəvalje| Also omble chevalier. [Fr.] A freshwater race of the char, Salvelinus alpinus, of the family Salmonidæ, found in certain French and Swiss lakes, esp. the Lake of Geneva.
