Optacon|ˈɒptəkɒn| Also optacon. [f. optical a. + tactile a. + converter.] A device for enabling a blind person to recognize printed characters by touch, the fingertip being placed on an array of many tiny rods certain of which vibrate in accordance with the pattern of light from the characters.
