orexin Chem.|ɒˈrɛksɪn| [f. as next + -in1.] The hydrochlorate of phenyl-dihydro-quinazolin, a colourless, odourless crystalline substance, very irritating to the nose, and of nauseous bitter taste, having some repute as a stomachic.
