[OE. orgel, orgol, orȝol (whence orȝel-líc, -líce in ælfred; etymology uncertain, as is the question of its relationship to the OHG. word which gave OF. orgoill, F. orgueil, ‘pride’, by which ME. orȝel, orhel, orel was superseded in the 13th c.: see orgueil.] A. n. Pride, haughtiness.
