† over-ˈterve, v. Sc. Obs. Also -tarve, -tirwe, -tyrve, -tyrfe, -tyrwe. [f. over- 6 + terve v., to turn round, roll.] trans. To overturn, overthrow, upset. (Often misread overterne, and mistaken for overturn.)
