ovipositor Entom.|əʊvɪˈpɒzɪtə(r)| [f. ovi-1 + L. positor, agent-n. from pōnĕre to place.] A pointed tubular organ at the end of the abdomen of the female in many insects, by means of which the eggs are deposited, and (in many cases) a hole bored to receive them.
