‖ padma, n. India.|ˈpʌdmə| [Skr., Hindi padma lotus.] The lotus, esp. the flower of the lotus-plant Nelumbium speciosum; hence, an emblematic representation of the flower (as on an award or decoration); also used as the first element in the titles of such distinctions.
