‖ propterygium Ichthyol.|prɒptəˈrɪdʒɪəm| [mod.L., f. pro-2 + pterygium.] The anterior cartilaginous portion of the fin in elasmobranch fishes. Hence propteˈrygial a., of or pertaining to the propterygium.
