‖ proptosis Path.|prɒpˈtəʊsɪs| [late L. proptōsis, a. Gr. πρόπτωσις a falling forward, prolapse, f. προπίπτειν to fall forwards.] Prolapse or protrusion of some bodily part, esp. of the eye.
