‖ parapherna, n. pl.|pærəˈfɜːnə| [L. parapherna pl. (in the Digest), a. Gr. παράϕερνα pl., f. παρα- beside + ϕερνή dower.] 1. Rom. Law. Those articles of property held by a wife over and above the dowry she brought to her husband, and which remained under her own control; see paraphernalia 1.
