parascending, vbl. n.|ˈpærəsɛndɪŋ| [f. para-3 + ascending vbl. n.] A sport in which participants, wearing open parachutes, are towed behind a vehicle to gain height before release for a conventional parachute descent, usu. towards a predetermined target area. Hence ˈparascender, one who takes part in this sport.
