‖ parazonium Gr. Antiq.|pærəˈzəʊnɪəm| Also 7 anglicized as parazon, -zone. [L. (Martial), ad. Gr. παραζώνιον = παραζωνίδιον a dagger worn at the girdle, from παραζωνίδιος at the girdle, f. παρά beside + ζώνη girdle, belt.] A small sword or dagger worn at the girdle by the ancient Greeks; also applied by mediæval writers to similar weapons.
