A herbivorous fossil reptile of the group once included in the suborder Pareiasauria, known from Permian remains found in southern and eastern Africa, eastern Europe, and Russia, now classified as the superfamily Pareiasauroidea of the suborder Procolophonia. So pareiaˈsaurian n. Also as adj., of or pertaining to an animal of this type.
