paristhmic, a. Anat.|pəˈrɪsθmɪk| [f. Gr. παρίσθµιον tonsil (f. παρ(α- by + ἰσθµός neck, narrow passage or connexion) + -ic.] Pertaining to the tonsils. So paˈristhmiotome [Gr. -τοµος cutting] (see quot.); paristhmitic |pærɪsθˈmɪtɪk| a., pertaining to paristhmitis; ‖ paristhmitis |-ˈaɪtɪs|, inflammation of the tonsils.
