Pasteurism|ˈpæstərɪz(ə)m, ˈpɑːst-| [f. the surname Pasteur (see above) + -ism.] A method of treatment, devised by Pasteur for preventing or curing certain diseases, esp. hydrophobia, by successive inoculations with attenuated virus gradually increasing in amount.
