arachnoid, a. and n.|əˈræknɔɪd| [ad. mod.L. arachnoīdes, a. Gr. ἀραχνο-ειδής cobweb-like: see -oid.] A. adj. 1. Bot. Covered with or formed of long, delicate, cobweb-like hairs or fibres.
