penroseite Min.|ˈpɛnrəʊzaɪt| [f. the name of Richard A. F. Penrose, Jr. (1863–1931), U.S. mining geologist + -ite1.] A selenide of nickel, ideally NiSe2, which usu. also contains copper, lead, or silver, probably as impurities, and occurs in grey reniform masses.
