pentastomid, n. and a.|pɛntəˈstəʊmɪd| [f. mod.L. name of class Pentastomida, f. generic name Pentastoma: see prec. and -id3.] A parasitic worm-like arthropod of the class Pentastomida; = tongue-worm (b) s.v. tongue n. 16. Also as adj., of or pertaining to a parasite of this kind. Cf. linguatulid.
