A white, crystalline powder which has been used as a ganglion-blocking agent in the treatment of severe hypertension; pentamethylenebis(1-methyl-pyrrolidinium hydrogen tartrate), C23H42N2O2; also called pentolinium tartrate.
1954Lancet 27 Nov. 1097/2 The preparation used was ‘Ansolysen’ (M. & B. 2050A),..termed pentolinium tartrate by the British Pharmacopœia Commission in 1954. 1958J. H. Burn Lect. Notes Pharmacol.
