† perˈcoct, v. Obs. rare. [f. L. percoct-, ppl. stem of percoquĕre, f. per- 2 + coquĕre to boil, cook.] trans. To boil or heat through or thoroughly. So perˈcoct ppl. a. [ad. L. percoctus pa. pple.], fig. ‘overdone’, hackneyed.
