perisarc Zool.|ˈpɛrɪsɑːk| [f. Gr. περί around + σάρξ, σάρκ-α flesh, as if from a Gr. *περισάρκιον (cf. pericarp-ium): cf. Gr. περίσαρκος surrounded by flesh.] The horny or chitinous case investing the cœnosarc in some Hydrozoa. Hence periˈsarcal, periˈsarcous adjs., pertaining to or consisting of the perisarc.
