permaculture, n. Ecol.|ˈpɜːməkʌltʃə(r)| [f. permanent a. + culture n.] The development or maintenance of an ecosystem intended to be self-sustaining and to satisfy the living requirements of its inhabitants, esp. by the use of renewable resources.
