permutant Math.|pəˈmjuːtənt| [ad. L. permūtānt-em, pr. pple. of permūtāre: see permute and -ant1.] A function formed of the aggregate of all possible permutations of a set of characters or indices, each being positive or negative as it is obtained by an even or odd number of interchanges.
