‖ Phascogale, Phascologale Zool.|fæˈskɒgəliː, fæskəʊˈlɒgəliː| [mod.L., f. Gr. ϕάσκωλ-ος leathern bag, purse + γαλῆ weasel.] A genus of small insectivorous marsupials of the family Dasyuridæ, diffused over Australia and New Guinea, commonly known as pouched or kangaroo mice.
