phyllopode Bot.|ˈfɪləpəʊd| [mod. f. Gr. ϕύλλο-ν leaf + πούς, ποδ- foot.] Name for the dilated sheathing-base of the leaf in Isoëtes, analogous to a petiole in Phanerogams.
