‖ phyma Path.|ˈfaɪmə| Pl. -ata. [L. phȳma (Cels.), a. Gr. ϕῦµα, ϕῡµατ- swelling, tumour.] An inflamed swelling, of various kinds; an external tubercle; in nosological systems variously applied to orders or genera of diseases.
