Gr. ϕῦσα bladder + στέγη roof + -ia1, in reference to the inflated calyx.] A perennial herb of the genus so called, belonging to the family Labiatæ, native to North America, and bearing spikes of pink or white flowers; also called the obedient plant or false dragonhead.
