piladex|ˈpɪlədɛks| Also pilla-. [f. L. pila ball + dex- in L. dextra, Gr. δεξιά right hand.] The name of a parlour game consisting in keeping an inflated ball or bag in the air by striking it to and fro over a line on a table with the back of the hand. (Formerly proprietary.)
