pimelea|pɪˈmiːlɪə| Also (erron.) -ia. [mod.L. (D. Solander in J. Gaertner De Fructibus et Seminibus Plantarum (1788) I. 186), f. Gr. πῑµελή fat, in allusion to the oily seeds.] An evergreen shrub of the genus so called, belonging to the family Thymelaeaceæ, native to Australasia, and bearing small terminal clusters of white, pink, or yellow flowers.
