pirarucú|pɪrərʊˈkuː| [Pg., f. Tupi (see quot. 18632).] The giant redfish of the Amazon basin, Arapaima gigas, of the family Osteoglossidæ, one of the largest freshwater fishes in the world; = Arapaima, piache.
