pleonastic, a.|pliːəˈnæstɪk| [f. Gr. type *πλεοναστικ-ός, f. πλεοναστ-ός: see prec. So F. pléonastique.] a. Gram. Characterized by pleonasm; using more words than are necessary (as a sentence, a speaker, or writer); constituting pleonasm, superfluous, redundant (as a word or phrase).
