plerome Bot.|ˈplɪərəʊm| [ad. Ger. plerom (Hanstein 1868), ad. Gr. πλήρωµα a filling: see prec.] The innermost layer of the primary tissue or meristem at a growing-point, which develops into the fibrovascular tissue, or into this and the pith. (Cf. dermatogen, periblem.)
