polycotyledon Bot.|ˌpɒlɪkɒtɪˈliːdən| [f. mod.L. Polycotylēdonēs (pl.): cf. dicotyledon.] A plant of which the seed contains more than two cotyledons. So ˌpolycotyˈledonary, ˌpolycotyˈledonous adjs., having more than two cotyledons in the seed, as many Gymnosperms; ˌpolycotyˈledony, the condition of being polycotyledonous.
