polypropylene|pɒlɪˈprəʊpɪliːn| [f. poly- + propylene. Cf. F. polypropylène (Berthelot 1867, in Jrnl. de Pharm. et de Chim. VI. 31).] Any of the polymers of propylene, which include a number of thermoplastic materials widely used as films, fibres, or moulding materials.
