poui|ˈpuːɪ| Also pui. [Local name in Trinidad.] A tree belonging to the genus Tabebuia, of the family Bignoniaceæ, esp. T. rosea, the pink poui, and T. serratifolia, the yellow poui, native to the West Indies and Central America, and bearing terminal clusters of trumpet-shaped flowers; also, the wood of this tree.
