prater1|ˈpreɪtə(r)| [f. prate v. + -er1. So Du. prater a talker.] One who prates; an obnoxious or idle talker, one who speaks much to little purpose, a mere talker, a chatterer. Formerly also a boaster, an evil-speaker.
