1970A. T. Anderson et al. in Proc. Apollo 11 Lunar Sci. Conf. I. 55 Armalcolite (Fe0·5Mg0·5Ti2O5), a new magnesium-rich opaque oxide related to the pseudobrookite series, was discovered independently by six research groups in their examination of different samples of the lunar material collected from Mare Tranquillitatis.
