retrolental, a. Path.|rɛtrəʊˈlɛntəl| [f. retro- + L. lent-, lens lentil (see lens) + -al.] Situated or occurring behind the lens of the eye; retrolental fibroplasia, a disease caused by administration of high concentrations of oxygen to (esp. premature) infants, characterized by proliferation of retrolental tissue and sometimes leading to blindness.
