arytenoid, a. and n. Phys.|ærɪˈtiːnɔɪd| Also arytænoid. [ad. mod.L. arytænoīdes, ad. Gr. ἀρυταινο-ειδής, f. ἀρύταινα funnel, pitcher + -ειδής -shaped.] A. adj. Funnel-shaped, pitcher-shaped: applied spec. to two pyramidal cartilages of the larynx which regulate the action of the vocal chords, and to parts connected with them.
