Ascians, n. pl.|ˈæʃɪənz| [f. med.L. Ascii (ˈæʃɪaɪ), also used in Eng. (a. Gr. ἄσκιοι, f. ἀ priv. + σκιά shadow) + -an.] Inhabitants of the torrid zone, who twice a year have the sun directly overhead at noon, and then cast no shadows.
